Fashion Update: It's Winter - Show Some Skin

Not all of it please, if the cold doesn't get you first, the cops will. I am talking midriff, because le crop top is staying for another season. If you already own a couple, hang on to them, otherwise go and grab a new one at the shops, but whatever you do, don't try to transform an old vest with the kitchen scissors- we will know.

By now we also know that although there is a 90's fashion revival, we are not actually in the 90's. No hipster bell bottom jeans and tight spaghetti strap crop tops please, the crop top itself is more versatile this time around and unless your a student on your way to a festival, it's styled a little more classy.

These crop tops are perfect as a wardrobe staple to take your look from day to dinner:

Loose, with a bohemian touch

or bright and structured

or casual with interesting detail.

If you're not afraid to stand out from the crowds, why not try a crop top and high waist shirt, matching combo.

Just because it's winter, doesn't mean that you should stay away from this trend. There are great ways to incorporate the crop top into your winter wardrobe.

Be it a casual lunch or a high class affair, the crop top can be styled up or down.

High waisted jeans, brenton stripes and a panama hat for concerts.

A tight high cut crop top and structured high waisted pants, with heels for daytime elegance.

Interesting cut out detail transforms this look to formal wear.

A plain crop with neutral Capri pants for a lunch date or shopping.

If you're not feeling bold enough to try this trend as is, try a see-through crop top over a beaded shift dress or throw a long cardigan or kimono over your shoulders when wearing your crop top.
